Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance/Contractor Services

Reliant Energy is one of the nation’s most preferred energy providers, operating and maintaining

generation facilities that serve about 1.9 million retail electricity customers in the U.S.  

We seek a Supervisor who can travel/work primarily at East Coast facilities including the

Pittsburgh, Western PA and Northeastern Ohio areas and be accountable for all outages

and projects from concept to completion with emphasis on work scope definition, safety,

environmental compliance, quality, productivity, cost/ schedule adherence as well as

maintenance, inspection, work methods, repair practices and standards for overhaul of

major rotating (turbines/generators), boilers, boiler related systems and select

auxiliary equipment.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or PE license is preferred,

however, non-degreed applicants with sufficient plant experience and ability to

demonstrate superior knowledge of large generating station mechanical/rotating

equipment and welding/quality assurance procedures will be considered. Requires

understanding of union labor agreements; computer applications (SAP, project scheduling,

budgeting, safety/ industrial hygiene); and knowledge of power plant operations. This

technical expert will be capable of assessing equipment failure and directing workforce

maintenance personnel to complete repairs and minimize downtime between degradation

or failure as well as possess a wide range of skills/experience to teach workers from

apprentice level through journeyman level. Overtime, overnights and 24/7 emergency basis

availability expected.
