Database Administrator
Capital BlueCross seeks a professional to utilize Sybase 15.0 on AIX 5.3 and implement
database infrastructure surrounding claims software; support Sybase
architecture/production/development/acceptance database components; and work with
business/application support teams to identify performance issues and solutions.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems
or equivalent work experience; 10+ years of experience coding SQL and implementing
applications with Sybase, Oracle, SQLServer or DB2; 7+ years of experience with large
complex relational databases containing over 200 data-structures, over 400 gb in size,
and tables with hundreds of millions of rows; ability to evaluate/tune SQL and configure
for large databases in Sybase, SQLServer, DB2 and Oracle; experience creating/maintaining
Unix Shell scripts; familiarity with Unix concepts; and experience analyzing/scoping/assessing
resource requirements to relocate operational system from a remote site to local control.
Prefer 3+ years of Sybase.
